Let's not exaggerate. He also had trouble with King Tut who was an old stiff!

What did you expect ? When Petrolle lost to King Tut, Petrolle lost to an
    embalmed fighter. NOT FAIR...

Tut was to Petrolle what Soldier Bartfield was to Greb and what Norton was to Ali. An old stiff? Tut was a top 10 rated lightweight contender. Hardly a stiff. You sure you've done your homework on Tut? ;)

Look at Petrolle's record. All those champs and top contenders getting beaten down on a regular basis.

Yes Petrolle was kod by King Tut in 1931. But 3 weeks later Petrolle flattened King Tut who was probably better than a later Tony DeMarco...

Again we are talking about fighters who fought what 70 years ago to a modern fighter. Being good for your era doesn't equate to being a all time great of any era. You can only give names. This guy was good and he beat him so he must be good. Who said these fighters were good? Boxing historians? Clearly they can't be biased.

Adrian Broner is a piece of **** but he would of crushed any guy you mentioned from that era period.

The elite guys from that era were seriously tough. Broner wouldn't be doing much crushing in that era because in this SOFTER era, he can only crush midgets, and he toils to beat old men with no power. Broners not that good, from what ive seen he's not elite level.

I don't see how a guy who had loads of trouble beating Paulie Malignaggi (with all due respect to Paulie Malignaggi, who is a solid boxer) would deserve a fight with a Barny Ross, let alone beat him. Am I missing something?

Barney Ross wasn't just a great fighter he was a remarkable man. He won the Silver Star and Bert isn't exaggerating Barney's wartime heroics.
He was wounded and became hooked on morphine while in hospital which eventually became a heroine addiction after the war which he overcame.
He toured around helping young kids with their addictions and delinquency issues and was a credit to his country.
In the ring he was as tough as anyone who laced on the gloves Broner beat this guy? Do me a favour.
