    1. It was a good opener. Very ambitious. A lot of leather was flying, although half or more of it was missing. 10-9 Ross.
    2. Both were moving fast. Ross scored seldom but hard. 10-9 Ross.
    3. Petrolle was trying to get in on Ross to do body punching, but it was not working out for him. 10-9 Ross.
    4. 10-9 Ross.
    5. Ross scores with excellence. Petrolle just cannot bypass Ross's jabs to get to the body, where it appears he did his best work at one time. 10-9 Ross.
    6. Good exchanges around the halfway point on. 10-9 Ross.
    7. Ross was pretty dominant, scoring with solid hooks. There was a good exchange near the end. 10-9 Ross.
    8. 10-8 Ross.
    9. Ross easily dodges, blocks, or parries Petrolle's blows. 10-9 Ross.
    10. Plenty of punching going on. Petrolle was exhausted and punched effortlessly though. 10-9 Ross.

A total shutout for Ross. He won every round without question.

I thought Ross looked a lot better than he did against Canzoneri earlier tonight. Of course, Canzoneri's probably a lot better fighter than Petrolle.

Verdict: A good performance for Ross, but not great. Not a great fight, one-sided and not strategically significant. I wouldn't recommend it.

Barney Ross looks the best boxer I have seen up to this point, with the exception possibly of Benny Leonard.

I was most impressed with his torso and head movement and the quick one-twos. Petrolle looked totally out of his depth against Ross. I had Ross winning everything we saw.

Despite this showing, Petrolle was a good fighter, with wins over Canzoneri and McLarnin.

I would disagree with it being a good but not great performance by Ross. I thought he was a great boxer, at least in the context of the time. His one weakness looked to be a lack of power.

And again, most of the real action at the time seems to have been in the lighter divisions.

That was the 220th, and last, fight of Petrolle's career. Tough way to go out because not only was Barney Ross an excellent fighter, that was one of his best nights.

Well, I wasn't taking anything away from Ross, I just thought it was not a great performance cuz he was beating Petrolle, who rettired after this fight.

Two ATGs in there. I've never seen this one before, so I'll give it a watch.

Ross was one of the finest I've seen upto that point. Tunney, McFarland and a couple others also looked great too.

This fight has always been a little disappointing for me. Ross looks great but I have read so much about Petrolle and, so far as I know, this is the only footage of him.

Close. Petrolle's second fight with Canzoneri is also on film. He looks significantly better, but still badly outclassed by Canzoneri.

Another tough night...fight 213 against another great boxer, also having one of his best nights. At least he got paid well.
