Great match-up. Mayorga outpoints the slugger Ross with his smooth boxing skills.

If by saying you have no idea who would win this fight, and also saying that Ross was a tremendous fighter, you most also think that Mayorga was a tremendous fighter:shock:...Mayorga would have been no more then a 6 round fighter had he been fighting in Ross's era.

I dont see how Mayorga could win this one, I think Ross would win by TKO in a 15 rounder, and Ross on points in a 12 rounder. Ross was just a better fighter.

Mayorga lands a perfectly timed counter when Ross wildly rushes in and it puts the brave but glass-chinned Ross out for the count. Mayorga just has too much class.

Ross was never knockout in 80 plus fights.

Yeah, cuz he never fought a precise power-puncher likez Mayorga. Too much finese for the wild slugging Ross.

Ross was a true slugger but he always looked for a way out at the first sign of trouble. Mayorga couldn't punch though so I'm not sold on him KO'ing Ross.

I don't know about that, Mayorga had respectable power and tremendous precision. Plus, as we all know, Ross had a glass chin and he sure didn't know how to protect it.

Ross would be looking to impose his strength and size advantage on the elusive Mayorga but will ultimately wind up outboxed, 10-5

Mayorga UD. Either that or Ross knocks him out within four, but after that, it's all Mayorga.

    Agreed.

If the frontrunning powerpuncher Ross doesn't take him out early, then the methodical, smooth-boxing Mayorga will fluidly control the pace down the stretch.
