What's the possible explanation for putting Marquez ahead of Barrera? I just don't see it at all.

i think barrera is alot more deserving than alot of fighters who get title shots....take amir khan for example
2 wins at lightweight after the prescott defeat and that earns him a title shot at light welterweight?
    pacquiao vs clottey?

Marquez has two unofficial wins over Pacman and he's won a title at a higher division against Diaz, and after all, marquez did beat him in a h2h matchup too.. so yea, barrera has work to do if he wants to surpass the living legend.:yep

Barrera lost a close fight against Junior Jones, and could have easily gone 3-0 against Morales. Doesn't make a difference, a loss is a loss and neither Marco or Juan can claim to have beaten Pacquiao.

Marquez started his career at Featherweight, Marco started his at Super Flyweight.

Marco Antonio Barrera of course being past his prime and above his optimal weight class. Very close fight.

Besides that, Marco faced and beat better opposition...end of story. :good

I know but that doesn't change the fact that Marquez was able to win a title at a higher weight division against a bonafide young champion. Barrera may have started his career at a SFW but that was when he was a teen. His best weight is 122-126 which also Marquez' prime weight and they're basically the same size.

When these two fought, Marquez himself was past his best so it was a good win no matter how you twist it.

Marco has more names on his resume because he was the HBO darling, a fan favorite and had easy time getting the big fights.. Neither him nor MOrales wanted any part of Marquez in the early 2000s.. Hamed included...

Barrera should be 3-0 against Morales?? r u kidding?

1st fight- Morales came in as the reigning champion and in a close battle like that, the champion gets the benefit of the doubt.. Neither fighter was able to really get a grip on the fight the right man got the decision.. Barrera fought a hell of a fight but he just didnt do enough to take the championship..

2nd fight- Anyone in their right mind knows that Morales outboxed him to a clean UD and ended up getting jobbed.. The judges felt bad so they just have it to barrera.. It was politcs..

3rd fight- This is the only fight where Barrera won clearly..

    MOrales is 2-1 against Barrrea.
