Interesting conference call, thanks for posting. For those who dont wan't to sit through the whole 38 minutes, I will comment on a few questions that were asked and what his repsonse was. :bbb 1. Question: Marco what do you think of the rumors about Pacquiao and him not concentrating on the fight? Marco: I don't pay attention to those rumors, I am preparing for the best Manny pacquiao, there have been rumors about Roach sending spies to my camp, there's no need for spies I will up the doors for him, he can come and see for himself. 2. Question: The first fight was a dominant win for Pacquiao, what is going to the difference in this fight? Marco: The difference in this fight is I had a great training camp, there will be no excuses. The first fight was a total meltdown, but I am real inspired for this fight I had a great camp. 3. Question: There are rumors that your trainer (Rudy) is no longer with you, is this true?Marco: Rudy is no longer with the team, 20 days before my last fight Rudy left and was there fight night but really wasnt part of the team. Follow up Question: So who is in charge of your training? Marco: The only difference is Rudy, my brother(Jorge) is still here he has been in charge of my training for years and Sendai Tanaka helps me with the mitts. 4. Question: Do you envision that you will retire after this fight? Marco: I'm planning to retire, I really want to retire i have been in the sport for 26 years (18) as a boxer. I am ready to pass the torch on to guys like Edwin Valero. All those guys that are calling me out, let Valero fight them. 5. Question: How much has your defeat to Manny Pacquiao been eating at you these past few years? Marco: Not at all, it hasn't been eating away at me, I had good fights after that I beat Erik Morales, i regained the title, I had other good fights. 6. Question: How did you convince Edwin Valero ( A world Champion) to spar with you, its not often that champions serve as sparring partners? Marco: I didn't have to convince him, we are good friends. I know his promoter good, and he always sends me good sparring partners. 7. Question: Will you learn from the errors that Morales made in his 2nd and 3rd fights with Pacquiao? Marco: Yes, Morales made a lot of errors, but let's look at the first fight where he(Morales) beat him(Pacquiao) from the opening bell, that's what I am going to concentrate on. 8. Question: You have been written off many times before in your career, after the Junior JOnes fight, before the Hamed fight, and against Juarez in the rematch, but you have been able to come up with these huge wins. What is the reason for this, in your mind, is this going to be your biggest one yet? Marco: More than anything its the motivation to shut up the naysayers, I like to shut their mouths. Just because you watch boxing, doesnt mean you are an expert. I want to prove them wrong. 9. Question: Bob arum said that if you win, against Pacquiao that a 3rd fight would be huge. If you beat Pacquiao will you entertain a 3rd fight? Marco: No, I have made up my mind this is my last big fight, if I fight again maybe in Mexico or in Las Vegas but not against a big opponent. If I do lace them up again, it will be a farewell fight. 10. Question: You said that Pacquiao is a more complete fighter now, and many do say he is at the peak of his game. What makes you believe you that will be able to pick up your "A" game and beat Pacquiao? Marco: Basically, it' just like any other fight, sometimes experience beats a young guy at his peak. It's not about me getting up to my "A" game, it's just about me using my experience and using my plan for the fight. Thats what will make me victorious.
Barrera seemed pretty honest in his answers, sounds like he had a great training camp. Barrera by decision, WAR BARRERA!
