When this fight was made I really felt something dodegy was going on and how such a bizarre match up could have been made. I really have a gut feeling that something just isn't quite right.

I mean what on earth does Barrera have to gain from this fight?? A certain HOF'er with nothing to prove, going up against an unproven, youngster coming off one of the worst ko's of recent times?

And Khan? A bright prospect coming off a devestating loss is willing to step right back into the fire (after a "tuneup" ko) and risk being humiliated again? I would have thought the most logical thing to do is to take some domestic fights (e.g. Commonwealth titles), and gradually step it up in opposition before taking on guys like Barrea.

If this is fully legit, then hats off to Warren for making this happen and putting his "cash cow" in there in such a high risk fight, but I still feel something else is going on here . . . . .

    Money.

Barrera has a foot and a half into retirement and is looking to cash in as much as possible.

Barrera has to prove he can still contend for a title.

Khan has to prove he is worthy of his hype.

Passing of the guard? or not? good fight

With a Frank Warren card nothing is certain until the fighters' step into the ring.

Don't be suprised of Barrera pulls out with an inury at the last minute.

I am staggered at how Khan is being rushed into such a fight after such a tender 1st Ko loss.. Back on the bike is never always the best trick..

Remember when Audley lost his 1 st fight to Danny Williams, then was matched straight away with a reletive fading hot ticket in Dominick Guinn.. It went all pear shaped and almost derailed his career .......

M A Barrera is not quite done yet, and Khan will realise that immediately... Don't necessarilly have the knee pads out , but Barerra is still alive and kicking....

Barrera is ripe for the picking IMO. If not now, then when? When Barrera loses to some other fringe contender first? 135 is a long way from 122/126. And Khan is big even at 135.

:patsch How on earth is someone who recently went the distance with the top two p4p fighters in the world "ripe for the picking"?

Yeah I was very shocked at this match-up when I heard about it. Khan was being taken along fairly slowly given the hype surrounding him. Then he gets KOed in the most devasting manner and that's when they decide to step up his opposition! And not just against a good fighter but against an absolute legend who might be faded but far from shot. Good on him, he's got balls. Make or break.

The match up is weird. I don't know who thought of it.

Barrera is doing it for the money, the fight is PPV in England so he should get a decent purse.

For Amir if he wins its a quick route to the big time. Sink or swim.

There is nothing fishy going on. Khan is going to get his Glass Jaw shattered.
