Pacman aint as complete a fighter as Marquez, not as versatile, and can't box as well as him, and I don't believe he's techincally as good either, especially balance. Pacquaio probably has more power and has more quickness. But when packaging everything together, Marquez is a better fighter than Pacman. Thats my problem with the poll results.

    Simple.[/quote]

You my decipher JMM as much as you want. Being better techically, balance etc.. You even said that is a better fighter than pac..

If JMM wins! Congrats! Like I said earlier NO EXCUSES for pac!

NOW IF PAC wins especailly by KO's over JMM. I wonder if you still have the guts to say JMM is still better than pac?!

I wonder what the use of saying...
    Marquez is quicker
    Marquez is more balanced
    Marquez is technically better
    Marquez is complete fighter
    Marquez is versatile

IF HE GETS KNOCKED OUT BY PAC?! this time hopefully for good!:bbb

If anyone was gifted with a draw it was Pacquaio. Marquez boxed his ears off for 10 rounds, for the most part anyway. I like both fighters, and I'm not a hater of Pacquaio. Im just stating an opinion, and if you don't agree with my opinion then doesn't mean I'm a Marquez hugger or Pacquaio hater. Im just telling it how it is, nothing to do with having an agenda against Pacquaio.

Apart from the three knockdowns, Marquez was handling Pacquaio pretty easily in my eyes.

I'll be the first to admit, Marquez hasn't fought the calibre of opponents some others have, but he's beaten some decent featherweights, IMO beat he Pacquaio and Barrera.

He's better all round than Pacquaio.

When you're as technically gifted as JMM is, other fighters will do anything and everything in their power not to fight you......

.....the other three in the equation in this discussion have all fought eachother more times, and its really simple........most boxing journalist would concede that if they were handling any of the other fighters, JMM would be the one in that group in which they would try to avoid or at the very least leave for last......
.......you go down the line and ask the fighters themselves, it they're honest with themselves, they'd agree with the journalistic point of view.

Its really simple why JMM has had less of these profile fights, the profile fighters would rather fight somebody else and not risk getting boxed the pants out of.

Come this March, alot of people in this forum are going to get hit with the cold plum reality of the special talents of JMM!
I hope to hear from some of the posters in this forum who are of the belief that JMM is last in this mini-fab four list.

.....reality is going to smack you all right plum in the face, and I just hope that some of you people come into this forum and give JMM his proper credit!

Whatever the reasons, risk/reward ratio is certainly part of it, there is'nt any question that JMM has been avoided.

.....and lets not go overboard either, JMM certainly would have netted more profits for either MAB or Morales, than alot of the pretenders they were fighting when they were'nt fighting eachother!

Its a pity that JMM was'nt let in the loop when he was at his absolute prime, but the feeling here is that the fighter that will end up paying for those frustrations for JMM will be Manny Pacquiao this coming March!

If Marquez was in the mix with Barrera and Morales around 2002, and later Pacquaio, he would have been at the top of the list beyond dispute. I know that with confidence, and you do as well.

    Marquez' peak was 2002-2004/05.

if marquez was in the mix with barrera and morales that time, he could be at the top of the list now or he could be as shopworn as morales and barrera now. two possible scenarios.

    Absolutely!

The JMM of early 2002 who used skill, quickness, speed, ferocity and power, while sitting in the pocket and countering Robbie Peden silly, forcing poor Peden to quit on his stool because he was vomiting blood from the beatdown......that JMM was a sight to behold!

Robbi was nice enough to share the clips below with me. I thought I'd post them for all to enjoy.

Just such beauty, the skill, fluidity, power and grace of those combinations.

I'd appreciate if anybody would post clips of any of the other mini-fab four that could match the fluidity, beauty and grace of the combinations below!:yep

Look at the combination thrown to Medina.....the variety of the punch choice......Jab, right hand, and uppercut!

    WOW!

The fights you talk about were not PPV.....Ayala or Ingin Chi.....

....and you're absolutely wrong, a JMM fight for either MAB or Morales at those times meant more money for them than Ayala or Chi.....

......the big difference between those opponents is that MAB and Morales were heavily favored to beat Ayala and Chi......that would not have been the case in a JMM fight!

......in analyzing why a JMM fight did'nt happen sooner for either MAB or Morales, HBO who televised alot of their fights has alot to do with their choice in opponents......When MAB was fighting the Ayala's and Saluds of the world.....Larry Merchant should have been on MAB like he has been with Mayweather Jr.....asking him that now that you've got rid of this pushover named Salud, when are you going to fight a real fighter not named Erik Morales?????

.....but the truth is that the HBO's of the world are really PR pimps that hype the fighters that are commited to them and dont pose the tough questions to fighters like MAB that they do to somebody like Mayweather Jr. who does'nt kiss their ass!
