This is where Divac and I part ways. I think Pacquiao is going to beat JMM this time. (I had JMM winning the last fight) As the fight gets closer, I will make my analysis.

Its all over this thread, that JMM could'nt put down pac with the three punch combination that he lands on that video clip I posted earlier.....and that Pac put him down with single shots three times in round 1.......

....as if somehow the fact that Pac floored JMM in the 1st round proves he's the better fighter!:roll:

Knockdowns dont neccesarily translate to victories. The first fight between these fighters certainly showed that!

Well we fundementally disagree. I understand your opinion though. I don't think that a twisted ankle is to be expected in a basketball game. It is a minor injury surely, but it's not something you go in expecting. When you hit someone with your fists, I assume that you would expect to hurt your hand if you do it often and hard.

Certainly it doesn't take away from them. But there are fighters such as Whitaker and Mayweather who are extremely dominant without having great power. Calzaghe is much this way as well. It doesn't take away from him, but it is not an "easy" button that you can bring up to win the day.

 

They both dominate the opposition, but they do it in a different way.

What did it take Felix Trinidad to dispose of William Joppy in a manner as if he were a rag doll???

Then after Felix Trinidad had lost to Hopkins......Hopkins does'nt come close to doing to a shot version of Joppy what Trinidad had done to him well before.
In fact, a shot version of Joppy took Hopkins (who by all accounts is much better fighter than Trinidad) the distance.

KO's dont mean you're greater.

Both JMM and Pac dominate in different ways!

You'll have to forgive me if I dont remember every detail of it.

.....but if I remember correctly, I do believe Pac said he hurt his hand early in the fight!
All I know is that he kept on trying to land it and land it with force for the whole night......which is'nt indicative to me of a fighter fighting with a badly hurt hand.

 

If you constantly beat a string of elite competition 120-108 down to 118-110, I think that is every bit as dominant as KO's. Some fighters just don't have power.

I hope the FIGHT ends in a KO coz some fans feel they were robbed if a boxer wins by UD only or espcially by SD. IF ONE WINS by a KO it will eventually DECIDE who is better than the two.

 

I dont agree, I think you're way off on that.

I'll give you another example.....going into the Calzaghe-Lacy fight, Lacy was destroying the same caliber of fighter that Calzaghe was beating.....at least I believe that they had some like opponents that Lacy just obliterated.......

Again, KO's are not an indicator of greatness.


......but if its any consolation, I do like for a fighter that is stylistically dominating, not to cruise and lax on a fighter. I'd rather see them push the envelope and show their superiority every which way!

Let me tell you something......a decision win in many instances can be more emphatic and prove a superiority level that could'nt be achieved through a KO!

The shellaking bestowed upon Jeff Lacy by Joe Calzaghe painted a picture of pure unadulterated domination that a KO could never tell!

Calzaghe dominated Lacy every which way, no form of a KO could have painted a picture that clear!

 

Foremans wins if not mistaken was all within 4 rounds or 5th rounds after that you could see all his punches is just as half as powerful as the first four or five rounds.

Like I said, I RESPECT your opinion but I don't agree with it. Lets just end it that way with respect.

Opinion is very subjective. Like saying in your eyes JMM is better but in my eyes pac is better. Lets it leave it that way and let the pac vs jmm decide who is REALLY BETTER!!!!

One more thing, which is I believe is not an opionion but the truth. The fights and wins of pac is more dominating, more exciting that is why he could command a better price. Boxers are after him EVEN without a BELT! No wonder there are soooooooooooo many boxers calling out his name.

I don't think JMM name is the " most wanted to fight with" of the fellow boxers. Yes, JMM got the belt which no one is really after but pac has no belt that everyone is after. :good
