Sometimes is so hard to isolate the skills with talent/power.

At the end of this poll. MAB could have 1000 votes and Pac could have only 300 votes. But how come if Mab ENDs up them most talented boxer among the four and yet he NEVER WON against pac..

Same with JMM. In case JMM ends up with 1000 VOTES and pac gets only 300 votes but for example PAC wins. It means the best talented or SKILLED fighter NEVER won over pac?

Sometimes its hard to ISOLATE the win with the skills. Another case could be Morales gets 1000 votes but we all know morales was 2-0 vs mab (or was in 1-2, pooooooor memory) and 1-2 over pac.

How can you be sooooo talented and yet you lose to the other great boxers!!!!?! if you so talented and yet you lose what is the talent FOR?

mirami86, I see your point. But Robbi is interested in knowing who has the most arsenal in him. He said he is not interested in the accomplishments. It's like having a checklist of what the boxers should possess. The boxer with the most in the checklist wins.

Though it doesn't mean that the guy with the most in the checklist will win in a H2H.

You said it is a combination of technical skills, talent, and maybe other intangibilities like heart, drive, attitude, styles, etc.

And when you combine all of these, and when you have great results (based on your achievements), then easily, you can not just ignore Pac as a hell of a fighter.

You gave Curry as an example. WHo other elite boxers did he beat? YEs, he may be skilled and ultra-talented, but was he able to showcase and proved it against the best and elite? Now, the other intangibles come here. Did he has the killer instinct? Was he able to rise up againts pressure?

again, as far as god given natural talent/attributes go, pac takes this by a country mile. his hand/overall speed, quickness, power etc.... are things those 3 guys can only dream about having.

in terms of being a well rounded/ technical/ flawless/ versatility/ textbook etc..... fighter, no question pac is at the bottom while jmm is at the top.

to put it to rest, all 4 are great fighters.

So is Barkely a better fighter than Hearns?. He must be with your criteria. They fought twice, and on each night Hearns was beaten. But surely when looking at both their careers and what they could do in the ring Hearns was better. He could box rings around anyone, including Leonard, he had brilliant power, moved better than Barkely, and was much quicker.

Barkely's style was effective against Hearns twice, but he was never a better boxer/fighter.

JMM is a better fighter with his more varied offense than Pacman with his 4 basic punches, certainly when looking at what they could do in the ring. You keep on looking at H2H again.

A resounding yes, a fighter with more tools is better than another fighter with fewer tools. On paper anyway, and thats my question. Who's the most talented and best all round, that was the question in the first post which came to the conlusion to ask "the best fighter".

If you ask me...going just on skill alone.

    Marquez would be the best.

Of the four, he is the better defender, the smartest fighter and the better counter puncher. He has the best timing....footwork....movement....etc. His speed is also better than all of them other than Pacman.

This is just a theoretical question. We can always give a theoretical answer.

In the end, a person with a wide variety of offenses or defenses is still no match for a very powerful opponent who can mow down anyone in front of him. For all the arsenals JMM has, he will still be overwhelmed by Pacman come fight night.
