On TV I can score it close or a draw, but live it looked like Marquez was dominating because when MAB pulled his head back it looked like Marquez was snapping it back from where I was sitting. Completely different perspective on that one, unlike any other fight I've seen live and watched later. I scored like 11 rounds for Marquez live and then when I rewatched it at home from the different angle I was like ... wait ... did Barrera deserve to win? (I was rooting for barrera and left the fight sad)
Haha... thats a really interesting story. It's amazing how different a fight can look when you watch it back
Just watched the fight again...With the KD in the 7th included, i had it 114-113 for Marquez...Barrera hitting Marquez in the floor caused him that fight...Had he not of done that i would of had the fight a draw. Round 7 would of been a 10-9 round for Marco due to how big Juan was winning the round before the KD. What a great great fight and very razor thin close.
Nothing big on Marquez resume ... JMM have plenty of very close fights which could go this way or the another. This all prevents him from become truly ATG he never dominated anyone of significant.
Just to clarify, nothing cost MAB the fight. The judges were corrupt that night and had the fight impossibly wide. Even had he not been deducted the point, MAB wouldn't have come close to winning on the cards. The other fights on that card, Penalosa vs De Leon and another one, were all scored absolutely horribly. I find it hard to believe judges can be that incompetent. Corruption.
is that because golden boy were replacing barrera with marquez because they knew he was retiring? i noticed how marquez was with de la hoya in the two juarez fights and the scorecards were ridiculous
Yeah, Penalosa De Leon was RIDICULOUS. De Leon did nothing but maybe win the first round and then walk around stupidly. Nothing good about their judging there, though I could understand the judges seeing it for JMM live because the fight looked like a Marquez clear win from where I was sitting.
