Hello. I just got done watching this ridiclious fight for the first time, and it's one of the greatest fights I have ever seen. In terms of non-stop action, this one runs Morales/Barrera 1 very close, and the drama of both fighters getting knocked down was unbelievable. How highly do you rate this fight, and round 6...which was just unbelievable. Opinions.
..........Ain't that one fun? That was the first fight HBO ever aired in their Boxing After Dark series. Just a tremendous display from both. Jesus, what guts. McKinney's last great stand. I distinctly remember both landing three right hands in succession at the same time on each other. It was like the Rocky movies. Just amazing action, and it's planted firmly in my "desert island" DVD collection. Definitely in my top ten fights ever list.
If I was to have a "desert island" DVD collection, Barrera vs Mckinney would be near the very top. I have a UFC fan at my workplace who wasn't terribly impressed by Gatti vs Ward 1. If this fight doesn't impress him I'm not going to speak to him ever again. I thought Cotto vs Margarito was good, but compared to this beast, it was Ibragimov vs Klitschko. Not to say Cotto vs Margarito ain't great. I love that fight. Best fights I've ever seen: Barrera vs McKinney Barrera vs Morales 1 Gatti vs Robinson Arguello vs Pryor 1 Ali vs Frazier 1 and 3 Marquez vs Vasquez 3 Corrales vs Castillo 1 Duran vs Leonard 1 etc. I would say it deserves to be mentioned among those.
http://ninjashoes.net/forum/showthread.php?t=12370 It's on the list somewhere. You have to download it, and it's a fairly big file but this is one fight your going to want on your harddrive in relatively good quality. If you haven't seen it, your in for a treat.
..............Here's another goodie for ya; I post this here all the time, trying to gain new converts. My very favorite ever. It was more than a championship fight, it was a celebration of the human spirit. [YT]9fHl3FLPrUE[/YT]
bro, thanks alot for the great vid. great music by the way:good Chava's my fav boxer as well. So much mystery, what if's, and sadness that revolves around him. I have his war with Azumah Nelson one of my top 10 as well. I gave an original poster of Sanchez to a pro fighter who's a friend a couple of years ago and regret doing it! I even picture framed it and everything!
