    I gave EM rds 7, 8, 10 & 11. Nothing insane about that.

Why the **** do people harp on about Barrera hitting fighters who disrespect him in press conferences, and hitting a second before the break, and occasionally on the break? We're talking Boxing, and the talent of Marco far outweighed his often controversial nature. Anyhow, should we all post the link of Morales posing over his victim for snapshots after beating him by stoppage? That was really classy, but you don't hear the Barrera fans going on about it whenever the fighters are being discussed.

Giving Barrera four of the last six rounds seems suspicious too me, Bill. Not that I'd ever accuse of being unable to score fighters, which is what you shamelessly did to me earlier in the thread. Disappointing. I thought there was a mutual respect between us.

Barrera would have beat McCullough & Hernandez by boxing them, it was Morales boxing skills that gave him his utterly dominant victory over both men & he did it by using his higher level skills + he showed them both that he could mix it up in their kinda fight too, thats the greatness of the man, Barrera wouldnt go there with these guys in that way & he probably still wouldnt win as clearly as Morales did in those fights (118-110/117-111)

Ps. Not sure Barrera would have beat Chavez tho, he dont have the outside game that Morales has, Id lean towards Barrera tho in a close/contraversial fight.

Dont take it to heart, Addie, we usually agree on most things, I know you are normally a sound judge when scoring fights but I think your way off on this particular fight, I should have stated that but whats done is done, Im correcting it now.

Ps. Velardez deserved that ****, he was running his mouth after beating Erik`s younger brother, he slagged off Tijuana as well & said he was gonna KO Morales.... Morales fought fairly while it lasted, beat him within the rules, then did the pose, tough **** for Velardez.

    :good

Likewise, Morales was calling Marco names at the press conference ahead of their rematch and Kennedy was shouting down a quiet and respectful Barrera ahead of their fight. He don't mess about, if you talk **** he'll smack you in the mouth. If you don't talk ****, you're fine. :good Tough **** for Morales and Mckinney.

It was within the rules. I have no problems with that, especially since the guy had been talking **** about me before the fight and during the fight.

I liked seeing the press conference bust up tbh, it got me excited about their upcoming fight + I didnt know they had signed to fight until I seen that bust up on Eurosport, I had been dying to see them fight again ever since I saw their 1st fight.

Barrera would have outclassed both men and not looked like he got hit by a truck afterward.

Barrera was on a different level to Chavez, as was Morales, and Barrera would have boxed his sox off for 122 rounds. Look for very wide scores.

Top line - Morales marks up easier than Barrera, always has, its a skin thing, nothing to do with talent.

2nd line - Chavez was bigger tho & his pressure would be trouble for Barrera + I dont see anyone in history going 122 rds, too much.

Ps. its easy to say `would have` but he never stepped in the ring with them, Morales did & won clearly vs all of them. We KNOW Morales can beat them, we are guessing with the `not as consistent` Barrera.

But it's easy for Morales' fan to go on about how "our man would have done the exact same thing to Hamed". Barrera did not step in the ring with a Wayne McCollough but would we really debate the outcome? Barrera was a smarter fighter than Erik Morales, he'd have boxed these guys and would have won handily on the cards. Chavez is a little bit of a question mark, but I don't see anyone favoring him in a fight with Marco.

Barrera would be smaller against Chavez, but Marco moved up to 126lbs for the first fight time and took care of business against Hamed, who'd been campaigning at 126lbs for far longer. He moved up to 130lbs and took on Erik, who'd already been campaigning, and took care of business.

The only fighters to beat Marco Antonio Barrera since '97 were named Erik Morales, Manny Pacquiao, and Juan Manuel Marquez (I don't count Amir Khan). Consequently, three of the best fighters of the last 25 years. Two of them were tough competitive fights. Barrera was consistent, he just lost sometimes when he stepped up against special competition. For the life of me, I'll never understand how a fighter of Marco's class ever lost to a Junior Jones. Makes no sense to me.

He should have beat Jones IMO as he will always rank higher on the ATG lists & is a better overall fighter but Jones seemed a bad style for him, didnt work out that way vs Morales tho, Jones was handed his ass with ease.

Then Barrera goes 12 rounds of brutal warfare with Erik Morales, takes Hamed's career part, and wins a trilogy against Morales. Makes no sense.

Their rematch was close however. Junior Jones, I mean.

Junior Jones gets underranked quite a bit. In his day, he was a very good fighter. MAB was wary of that right hand bomb in the second fight and it made him a little too cautious, which cost him the decision.
