What the hell? Of course I've seen the fight... what are you smoking? There's nothing in what you said here that disagrees with anything I said. Put down the crack pipe. MAB did not WANT to force Pac into a brawl. MAB can't win a brawl with Pac at that point in his career. He wanted Pac to attack him while he laid back and countered, which Pac didn't do. If MAB goes crazy and attacks Pac to force Pac to go crazy in return (which he will), that's a bad strategy for MAB.
Sorry Bernie, I confused you with Addie who has said in this thread he had not seen the fight....both of you are huge MAB fans........ .....but to counter your point on a Brawl not suiting MAB......of course it would'nt, butunder the circumstances he was in with MAB being to quick and fast to get off and then out...... MAB needed to initiate a war, andthen have the dicipline to box his way out of that war while Manny stuck to it..... My feeling is that if MAB would have suckered Manny into a war, Manny would'nt have had the diciipline to revert back to boxing on the backfoot.
How the **** did Merchant and Lederman give Barrera round 5 in the first fight? Did the judges have it that way too. Watching those fights with that announcing team makes it seem like a one sided beating in favor of Barrera.
Just re-watched this for the first time in years. I thought Merchant's remark in the 8th round that 'this fight ain't nothing', was disgraceful. Those two men gave so much of themselves in the 1st fight that it would have been near impossible to have that same intensity - and yet they still put on an excellent and entertaining fight.
