Barrera aint out-fighting Saddler, and it took a 100% Willie Pep to outbox him... Saddler takes it rather comfortably.
I was thinking the same thing- It would be competitive, at least for most of the fight. But Barrera isn't hurting Saddler at any time while Saddler can hurt MAB. I thought this could get real dirty because of Sandy's nature and MAB's tendency to retaliate.
Saddler would out everything Barrera, but Barrera would still be there at the end, and you had to be mighty good to last 15 rounds with Saddler. Saddler WU15 (10-5)
Barrera would have some success early with his faster hands and combination punching, but Saddler will wear him down with his wrestling and body rips to the point where Barrera just hangs in to survive in the last third of the fight. 10-5 Saddler.
That is my guess also... It would be interesting and respectable - Barrera can give any FW who ever lived a tough fight - and I think he beats most of them - but this is a Saddler win.
Sandy takes this ,superior in every department ,M AB goes the route but it would be a unanimous decision for Saddler, imo.
Sandy Saddler wins this one!!! IF Barrera lasts the distance, Barrera will have taken a serious beating. Saddler had a GREAT jab and was a great infighter as well. PLUS, Saddler had really good power and a solid chin. So, Barrera gets shellacked. Grebfan9 www.firstroundboxing.com
