Marco Antonio Barrera, the former 3-time world champ was in Los Angeles today to talk about his future plans and promotion for the upcoming "Boxeo y Musica" (Music & Boxing) event on May 2nd at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA as well as the May 3rd bout between Oscar De La Hoya and Steve Forbes.

Barrera who has been ironing out the details of his next three events in Reynosa, Monterrey and Guadalajara, Mexico emphasized that he's been quite busy doing his job as promoter for Golden Boy Promotions but feels very satisfied with what he has accomplished so far.

"Doing everything the right way, makes it all work out, and thanks to God, my boxing events have turned out very well especially given the fact that we have some excellent fighters with great financial support, said Barrera.

Marco Antonio reiterated that he would be taking a hands-on role in promoting the De La Hoya-Forbes bout and that fans shouldn't miss out on Oscar's farewall tour.

As for the May 2nd card, he said that Olympian Vicente Escobedo (16-1, 11 KOs) would headline the card against Roberto Arrieta (27-12-4, 10 KOs) in a 10-round bout while Julio César "Baby Face" García (40 -3, 33 KOs) would take on Sergio Ríos (18-6, 16 KOs).

Speaking about his boxing career, Barrera said, "I don't want to return just to return. If Golden Boy Promotions gives me some interesting options against marquee names, or a third fight with Pacquiao, then I'm all for it. But if it's just about taking on an opponent who's there to lay down, then I won't even think about coming back."

"A fight with Pacquiao is certainly one that gets me worked up but we'll have to see what his plans are and against Juan Manuel Marquez, that would be another good one, though it's too bad that he lost against Manny which I felt was a draw and I was at ringside screaming my lungs out when he had him on the verge of a knockout. Marquez could've knocked him out," said Barrera who will be on hand in Las Vegas this week to assist with the Calzaghe-Hopkins fight on Saturday night.

MAB needs to retire. What else does he have to prove?

I'm a MAB fan too . . . but a third fight is a wishful thinking on his part.

He's going to end up being another Holyfield if he doesn't watch himself. Another fighter in denial about himself.

Why so he can run from him again?

If anyone should get a third fight with Pac its Marquez.

Pac would beat his ass even worst. He should fight Morales again and not only get a pay day but possibly win

Won't happen, MAB got his chance in the rematch and made nothing out of it, he was just there to survive and go the distance.

Reading comprehension around here is at about the 3rd grade level

Barreras is NOT asking for a fight with Pac but will take it if it comes his way.

It should be obvious by now that the OP will just copy and paste any article with the word pac in it and will try to spin it into a pro-pacman post:patsch
