Ward made barrera look like nothing....even coming back after what was basically a two-year layoff. Surprised the hell outta me. I was looking for barrera to really take it to ward and see how a rusty ward would handle a tough, young, hungry cuban with great athleticism and pedigree. but ward basically dominated to the extent it almost looked like barrera was a clubfighter instead of the #1 contender. and the thing is, barrera would actually beat kovalev...barrera has all the tools to beat kkkovalev. probably knock kkkovalev out. i mean, if a guy like pascal, with no boxing skill at all, could put kkkovalev on ***** street a couple of times in the first fight, barrera would hand kkkovalev his a88. If ward is gonna take another tune-up fight this year before the kkkovalev fight, how about barrera-kkkovalev in the interim so we see how kkkovalev does. I don't see team kkkovalev taking that fight though...
mmmm prob a bad matchup for barrera. i think ward beats kova easier then he does barrera because of styles
Barrera had 2 choices. Gets knocked out by Kovalev in 3 rounds or do a 12 round sparring session with feather fisted, inactive Ward! Same money!! Which would you choose?
I think that Kov would win the fight and possibly knock him out but the possibility of him hurting or knocking Kov out is greater than he had with Ward. He couldn't hit Ward solidly but I think that he would connect on Kov at some points for as long as the fight lasts.
Good to see your back lobotomy . do you agree that ward is weight draining to gain a size advantage ? He was 185 the morning of the fight, enters in the ring in the 190's
the choice wasnt made by barrera.... duva had 2 fighters who could fight ward...rather than have barrera or kovalev eliminate one of them by fighting each other...she got the lesser fighter a shot at him first...if barrera had won it set up kova/barrera in which duva would reap all rewards...its just simple you dont pit your two guys against each other until you have to
Don't see what's s___t about it. It's a legitimate matchup. the #1 against the titleholder. I happen to think barrera is a highly skilled guy with the amateur pedigree to give kovalev all kinds of problems. cuban fighters like barrera are champs in all weight classes...they're fewer in number but they dominate...because they have great fundamentals. kovalev has never been in the ring with a professional of barrera's caliber. barrera is rangy, he's faster and quicker than kovalev and he's got some power too...just ask murat. I'd love to see the fight...kovalev would be lucky to survive to the final bell.
you said kovalev was draining to make weight and had an unfair advantage yet ward weighs more than him the morning of the fight then kovalev does in the ring i guess that means ward only won because of his size advantage
