My God why cant fighters just let it go. Respect to Lennox Lewis in that regard - espcially if he can resist the tempatation of Don Kings $25 million offer to come back. Barrera has a metal plate in his head and risks his health boxing into older age. Also he has achieved everything worthwhile and fufilled his career - surely he has enough money to be comfortable.
He needs to ****ing retire, he may be able to beat b-level guys but he cant fight at the top level. His fight with Marquez was his last great fight.
Legends can't stop because boxings second nature to these guys. That's like saying Why doesn't Bill Clinton stop getting head.
theres still some good fights out there for Barrera Valero Soto Gamboa all very much winnable for him, dont call him shot just because he lost 2 competitive fights with the #1 and #2 p4p fighters of the world.
I don't mind him fighting Morales though They could call it "The final chapter" make some money and both retire after that
I dont think he is still in it for the money. I never heard anything about him not doing good with money. I think he is staying in because he hasnt been able to let go yet.
Id like that but Erik looks as if he retired 10 yrs ago, Im not confident at all in his physical condition & if MAB were to TKO/KO him then its highly possible that Morales would either shoot Barrera or commit suicide... there is NOT a lotta love there.
^ I'm right there with ya' . I dont' think it's about money at all. He wasn't anywhere near poor before he was a boxer. I think it's just in his blood. Maybe he sees himself as something of a lower weight class, Mexican, Bhop. I thought he was very competitive against JMM. Less so in his 2nd fight w/Pacman. I think he should retire, but who knows? He's the pro after all and is no dummy...
First question is against who? I 've heard rumors of him fighting a japanese for another title . . . but none make it to the headlines so far. He
First question is against who? I 've heard rumors of him fighting a japanese for another title . . . but none make it to the headlines so far. He is no longer the same MAB that can compete at the top level . . . but he can still kick a lot of asses at this point.
