.S: Assuming you beat Haye, what then, a world title fight? Do you plan on becoming champ before you retire? M.B: Yes. Either Klitschko or Sam Peter, or the WBA champ, Valuev - I'm real comfortable fighting all those three guys. What I say is, I'm crawling right now, but by the time I get to one of those guys, after having beaten Haye, I'll be walking. Not because Haye is one of the best in the world, but after I beat him people will be knocking at my door. It's the T.V networks I'm looking at impressing. J.S: When you say Klitschko, do you men Vitali, who fights Peter on October 11th, or do you mean you'd like a rematch with Wladimir? M.B: Just so long as I become champ. I would like to fight [Wladimir] Klitschko again, because I know much more about him now. Sam Peter I could beat with my eyes closed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Peter has no clout with the other heavyweights these days. And the feared destroyer aura Peter once had has been as deflated as it can possibly be.
Yeah. BArrett has real skills, and he has been in there with some if the best. He's not an easy night for anyone.
Barrett hasnt been anything special since 03, which was the last time he had a good fight with a decent oppenent. So he beat Tye Fields, big deal, the guy has been fighting nobodies on the versus channel for the last 2 years, he was bound to get knocked off by the first C class contender he fought, which happend to be Barrett. Sam Peter would murder him, Barrett is right about one thing, he would have his eyes closed fighting Peter, after getting hit with a overhand right where he would end up in a coma after falling face first into the canvas.
Peter would KO Barrett at any point in his career, though the 03 version, the same one that fought Mesi, would at least put up a fight for the first couple rounds, and then fall victim to Peter's awesome power, Barrett's way too small to bang with Peter, the guy's barely over 6'0 and has a very small frame for a Heavyweight, he would be manhandled from the get go against Samuel.
He'd lose to wlad if they fought 100 times, but i wouldn't be surprised to see him win a decision over peter. He'd have to keep his eyes open though.
Barrett would be a legit contender, if he made a sincere commitment and had a good trainer. Haye's given him an opportunity to jump-start his career (if Haye doesn't pull-out, and that's a big if); let's see what Barret does with this opportunity. Though, I must admit, I expect Barret to get KO'd in spectacular fashion in about 3 rounds.
If he literally went out there in round 1 and fought Peter with his eyes shut, that would be the Best Fight Ever. And a very short one too. But still Best Fight Ever.
