Any idea how much Barrett is getting?!

 

I respect his bravery but he needs to seek great health insurance.

 

Cliff Couser knocked Barrett out in the 2nd round years before Haye beat him.If Barrett knocks Tua,or even just beats him,all it will prove is that Tua's completely shot.

Don't quite know what happened to Barret. He used to be extremely good, no ****, but somewhere along the line, he started accepting defeat when he could have pressed on. Monte is a mystery to me.:-(

 

Monte has talked a good game leading up to the haye and solis fights and then looked pretty bad in each of those fights (tho he had a couple of moments vs haye). I like Monte too and don't agree with a few posters saying he was never any good. He was a legit top 10-15 guy for a few years. I just think his punch resistance has just gone to **** over the past few years probably due to a pretty long career banging with guys who are naturally 20 lbs heavier. The guy has tasted the canvas many many times starting with the valuev fight (and getting ko'd by couser is a bad sign even tho that stuff happens at hw and he avenged it). His reflexes are a little frazzled also for the same reasons probably. All that said, I don't think this is a terrible choice for Tua especially considering the contractual stuff pointed out by some of the more knowledgeable posters. Plus, both Haye and Solis were able to garner even more momentum following their W's over Barrett. Guys like Friday and Monte are a lot better than the hw's Tua was fighting a couple of years back. If he wins, it's a name and arguably a win over a top 50 guy (which tua hasn't had to many of in past few years). It certainly won't hurt Tua because Tua has power and a name and he'll be able to be promoted into much bigger fights soon even if he's only got wins over this level of comp (see shannon briggs and andrew golotas' paths to title shots in the mid 2000's).
