According to boxingtalk.com, Monte Barrett is now challenging Kevin "The Kingpin" Johnson because of the press releases Kingpin has been sending out with all the trash talking. I like both Barrett and Johnson, so I won't vote either way. What does everybody else think? Does Barrett have enough left to take out "Kingpin" or does the prospect triumph over the veteran?

Even a faded version of Barrett stands a good chance to beat Johnson. Johnson hasn't impressed.

I was glad to hear it too. I've always liked Barrett despite what the haters say. He comes to fight, and I have never seen him out of shape.

:good He may not be championship material, but he will take on anyone as you said, always comes in shape, and doesn't just collect a paycheck.

Would be huge step up in class for Johnson but one he needs to take.

I want barrett to look good in this fight! And perhaps he can use a last chance to become Heavyweight-champion! Perhaps vs vitali! They both 37 and we know there wouldnt be many more fights of them!

Didn't Barrett already face Vitali, or was it Wlad? At any rate, as much as I would love to see Barrett hold a piece of the championship, I don't think he could get by Vitali or Wlad at this point. Vitali is just too big, strong, powerful and has too good a chin for Barrett to conquer, and Wlad is too polished and refined since he got Manny working with him. I fancy his chances against Valuev despite their first encounter. He could have won that fight if he had just boxed smartly rather than try to knock Valuev out.

I think Barrett has a shot at beating KJ. KJ is not powerful and not that impressive.

No world beater for sure, but he wasn't all that bad.
