According to the talk of boxing, Monte Barrett got a cut above his left eye in sparring, and had to pull out of the fight with Kevin Johnson. Damn, I was looking forward to this fight.:-(

sucks. should've been a real test for kingpin. hope that johnson waits and reschedules barrett (assuming that's possible) rather than beating some last minute replacement tomato can as he has fought enough already

This really pisses me off. I am a big fan of Barrett's and I think that Johnson has a lot of potential. I really wanted this fight to come off.

I don't care what name opponent Johnson fights at this point, just so long as it is somebody that we have heard of.

Barrett is not the fighter he once was. At his best he would exposed Johnson but this injury probably saves him from the embarrassment of another loss.

This is a 50/50 fight for me. I think that Barrett has enough left in the tank to stop Johnson, but at the same time, I haven't seen enough of Kingpin to really say that it would happen.

Hopefully Johnson will still fight on the card against a decent opponent.

I sure hope so. The guy needs to get the ball rolling. He may be young, but the longer he waits to fight a decent opponent, the less fans he will make.

Kinda my feeling. This is news? Barrett's washed up and Johnson's nothing special. The only intrigue in this is whether Monte could spring the upset.

This is sort of an important fight. It is a crossroads between the aging contender desperate for one last shot and the young, hungry, undefeated fighter.

I was a little curious to see how KJ would handle him.

Why not Kevin Johnson vs Jason Estrada? I figure Estrada has to be recovered from his loss to Povs, Might make sense to have those two go at it.
