Fields took a few punches that didn't even seem hard, then he collapsed to the deck. He tried to get up but he was so badly hurt he floundered like a whale and didn't beat the count. Amazing.

Just to keep up with the reactions of the board today.
Monte Barrett would knock out David Haye, Wlad, Sam Peter. Valuev and Chaguev. Simply amazing performance.

Fields was charging in with his zombie-like speed trying to catch Barrett and got caught with only ONE counter that actually finished him, then a few more followed to send him to the canvas. :rofl

Tye fought out of a crouch, i agree that he had to use his jab at long range and it did look effective for the first half minute, Barrett stood up to him and it looked like Monte had adopted the wrong strategy in standing up to a big man like that.. Then just when Tye stood too close to Monte and failed to flash the jab at length , Barrett countered with a perfect shot lashing Fields head back, as he staggered , Monte threw a couple more inch perfect shots that snapped Fields head back until he finally dropped on his face and just beat the count to get stopped unable to defend himself..

Barret just lacks that bit for the top10, but he's a good top20 guy. Say what you will, when he got his title shot against Valuev he did all he could going with big punches early on. Just that Valuev didn't have Fields' glass chin. He also kept going when he was in horrible condition and suffered a vicious, vicious cut against Klitschko after the 5th or so knockdown. The man is all heart.

Yep, Barrett has always been a tough egg.

He is still a solid test for any heavyweight trying to crack the top 10.

I'm just ecstatic he got rid (hopefully) of that circus show Tye Fields.

For the most part; however, his fight with Rahman was pathetic.
