Hall just may **** himself when he lands on someone and finds them smiling back at him, instead of crying on the sidelines. If he can get past that, then he would probably win domestic titles. Will have to see him in action first to see if he's capable of anything beyond that.
Hall was taught the skills at an early age and has both technique and power. Hewouldn't be just wallowing away with little idea like most of the footballer converts. Let's see if he pulls the gloves on first. Then we can judge him on fact not guesswork.
This would just be another side show act to boxing. It makes the sport of boxing look like a joke. Hall and his hangers on make a fortune by fighting bums in mismatches watched by bogan dickheads who wouldn't know who Michael Spinks is. Whats worse is that so called respected people in the game like Hyder, Danny Green, Andy Raymond, Barry Michael etc etc will make the most ridiculous statements that the bogan dickheads who will follow Hall will probably believe. Just a circus act to line pockets.
I agree with what you say, however, the only big boxing names I've heard come out with ridic **** re: footy players going on to great things in boxing are Johnny Lewis (about just about every boxer he takes on) and Tony Mundine (saying SBW is the next Ali).
As anticipated, Hall announced his retirement today, effective the end of this season (Sept 2011). It will be interesting come the end of the year to see whether he pulls on the gloves, and if he does, how he fares.
Well, from all accounts he's got the pedigree for it, it'd be nice if he could make a good show of it and redeem some of the embarrassments we've seen so far with the league-to-boxing converts.
