I agree, you don't have to like one or the other. Just enjoy both if you want to.

Pride was the number 1 MMA org up until 2 years ago when they lost thier Japanese TV deal and got bought over.

They had more talent in their divisions with the likes of Prime Fedor, Minotauro, Cro cop, Igor, Wandy, Rampage, Shogun. But times have changed and the UFC has most of the Pride guys now.

I don't want to. UFC is for inferior men.

Cheers I'll have a look on the Torrents. I've seen clips in YouTube and the ring in Pride seems better suited to that type of fighting than the Octagon. Strange....

The cage style of MMA from North America is dominated by wrestlers at the elite level, but the ring in Japan allowed for more strikers to do well, so is probably better viewing for a boxing fan :good

I can't stand UFC and all that other MMA stuff, couple of shots are thrown, then it goes to ground and they wrestle about a bit and then you get the old ground n pound bit and that's usually the fight over.

It also seems to be the toss of a coin who wins as well. Any sport that can have Kimbo Slice as a celebrity, I have no time for.

Give me the style, speed and skill of a good welterweight boxing match any day.

Its far from a toss of the coin. The most elite mma guys have great records and title runs.

Kimbo Slice is considered a joke within the MMA community. Its only casual youtube fans that watched his boxing street fights that think otherwise.

boxing is in trouble imo, but Oscar will save it

boxing has long history, global stars,

Boxing needs to improve as a sport. There are too many ABC titles and too many miss matches. However, boxing is the purest and best fighting form. Boxing just needs a leader and genuine direction to re-market itself to the market. UFC will provide the impetus for boxing to change, before its too late.

The main problem is Americans are going into other sports such as football, mma and basketball. I dont think the micky mouse titles like the WBU and IBO are killing boxing....its the lack of superstars.

The aging US stars of the 90s such as Hopkins, Jones, Toney and DLH will be gone soon. I dont see any replacements for the next decade.
