    Hearn is spot on here.

Would be strange to disagree with him here.

Hearn is good for british boxing though, he is a charater who is always good for a quote

spoke a lot sense there apart from the one punch ****

Gotta agree with him. Khan was gassing and it was obvious Paul was planning to let him tire a little before hee went at him. I was one of those calling this a mismatch before the fight but McCloskey made Khan look average with his defensive style and it was just about to get interesting.

You could of put Graham Earl in there, with the same game plan, against the Khan that showed up on saturday and you would get the same outcome.

There is no credit to assign to Mccloskey, only failure on Khan's part

Yeah I agree, the REF is totally senile if he thinks that was a proper stoppage call

    haha:patsch:rofl

one round job no matter what McCloskey did u total bullshitter!

Khan looked like total **** against, in your words, a total no hope!

I love the way you present your opinions as gospel, nothing like reading someone who thinks they are smarter than everyone else

That's just stupid. People are saying that McCloskey did nothing. That's not true. He made Khan miss and look average for 5 and a bit rounds. Now ok so he didn't win any of them but some seem to be making it out as if Paul was do nothing but spoiling, which isn't correct. McCloskey wasn't running, he wasn't holding. He wasn't even ducking below the waisteline much or complaining, holding his hands behind his head whilst running backwards like Khan did a couple of times.

His plan was clearly to frustrate Amir Khan for the opening stages of the fight and then try to time him coming in whilst Khan got desperate to impress.

The frustrate part was clearly working. Who knows what could have happened after that?

    Barry Hearn in spot on.

Considering 95% of the people on here are armchair boxing professionals, like yourself, it is more than likely the case.

Barry is great.McCloskey is anything but.Still, other than the one punch theory,Hearn is correct about the stoppage.

finally some sense. standing in the centre of the ring while some amateur runs at you with 5 punch flurries, the idea is to get out of the way of them. he should have come back with more tho

yea, but most people come on here to debate, discuss and enlighten themselves with fellow boxing fans.

you come on to make grand statements as if you are offering some presidential decree, phrased in such ways that you are the ghost of eddie futch and gil clancy and ray arcel, the proceed to offer nothing to back them up other than a whim of an opinion. then shove it down everyones throat over and over and over. then when you are proved wrong, you cant even say ****in hell thats not what i expected:-(

keep it up though, because you seem to provide me with some entertainment!

You do realise you are talking about a SPORT not a math equation.

Aside from that, had Mccloskey come out and won the fight, or at the very least won a round or actually engaged, or done something/anything to indicate he had a chance of doing so, then I might of been prepared to state he did better than I expected. As it happens, he didn't. That's the facts of the situation, all this other stuff about plans to fustrate and so on are just talk.
