You are talking pure ****. Hearn has a lengthy IFL interview on this and confirmed that the offer was real, Haymon answered his requests for clarification and it was down to AJ to decide if he would go Stateside. He said no and contrived his absurd “I care about UK fans” excuse.

How does anyone find the Axis of Eddie-Barry-Tony Bellew remotely likeable when it comes to anything regarding Joshua? They are so smug, arrogant and entitled.

You need to watch this video in detail if you want an informed view on this. Throughout this video, Hearn confirms that his offer is legit and he was communicating with Haymon in length about clarification points. Hearn clearly states here that the only outstanding deal breaker issue is for Joshua to decide if he would go to Vegas for the fight.

I've actually timestamped the point where Kugan asks Eddie if he has requested proof of funds, and Eddie states that he has NOT asked for proof of funds and that he has no need to do so when Showtime and Haymon are involved. I repeat HEARN SAID HE DID NOT REQUEST PROOF OF FUNDS!!!

Now look at this Twitter thread from this week, where Hearn suddenly pulls the proof of funds issue out of his arse to deflect from the fact that he and Joshua have ducked the fight:

Constant contradictions from Hearn throughout. Back in April I posted this thread highlighting how hypocritical Hearn has been throughout this protracted discussion on Wilder-Joshua:

As others have mentioned here, the fact that you have fans believing every word he says "because he brings banter on IFL" is astonishing but not surprising if you look at the state of politics these days. Pure Matchroom idiots who buy into everything this idiot says when it's clear as day that he will twist his agenda on a weekly basis and pull things out of his arse to make it seem like he and Joshua want the fight now.

Let's not forget that Joshua said before the Parker fight that he views the Wilder fight as a 2020 fight. Then after the 50 million bluff was called, notice that Joshua hasn't said anything more about this fight in public. He's been told to zip it by Hearn.

 

I like Eddie Hearn and think he has done a great job for Joshua. However when you look into it, it looks like Eddie wanted the povetkin fight first. He could have said that at the beginning.
Wilder and his team aren't entirely blameless either. They could have put more pressure on and responded quickly or quicker.
Its whatever story you believe i suppose but i dont believe either of them. The whole thing was a building the fight up promo for next year.

 

I want Joshua to win, I really do, I'm British so it goes without saying.

But can you imagine if Povetkin knocked AJ out now? And then went and fought Wilder in the US for all the belts.

I feel it's almost written, maybe it's a British thing, a British mindset, Murphys Law/Sods Law or whatever you call it.
