Barry Jones is truly the worst commentator of any network

Saw clips of that billy gypsy fight and the one thing i noticed was how hard both commentators were sucking his ballls they may well have just ran inside the ring and dropped his shorts to perform the act in real time.

I love how Barry was giving credit to Buglioni when he was getting battered at the time in the last round, I think he complemented him on his neck muscles or something, comical. You could tell Rawling & Jones weren't happy giving rounds to the non-house fighters all night.

Barry is not the best commentator, but he is not the worst either. Jim Watt is worse - repeats the same comments again and again regardless how the fight is going. I thought

Gary Lockett made some good comments though.

Yeah, I like Jones. He's one of the few will say "X is good" and then explain what X is doing which is good

I think Lockett would be great in that capacity, but he's usually otherwise engaged unfortunately. Ill get shouted down here, but I don't mind Jim Watt at all. Maybe a bit biased as I was around when he was boxing and quite liked him. Barry Jones is relatively new to the game, and although I don't rave about his commentaries I have nothing against him. But I do think he is really good in a discussion, like the Boxnation one and the podcast. Quite good at predicting fights and has a wicked sense of humour. Its the entertainment business also.

I'd rather have Watt than Jones and Watt can grate on me. I think both decide who is going to win in round one then commentate as if that is the case for the duration of a fight even if the fighter they picked against starts winning.

We need a Paulie Malignaggi on Sky or Boxnation.

I think British commentators despise anybody who doesn't box in an upright amateur stance, they still give Froch and Groves disparaging comments for a low left hand.

No, Jim Watt is and by a distance. The Welsh man is sub standard if you're being honest, no insight and constant whining on about whichever fighter he's been told to hype up.

Ian darke, probably the best caller anywhere, pity he's not calling the fights anymore. Glenn McCrory should be Calling the main fights on Sky as well, Watt has lost the plot, he used to be excellent, he's ****e now!

Really? Man, you must have some pretty low standards for commentary to think he is top notch. Offering little insight into the game, poor ****ysis, and being is horribly prone to bias is anything but top notch.

Top notch boxing punditry is Paulie Malignaggi or Richie Woodhall.

I say give Jones the elbow and hire someone decent.

Reasoning for Kovalev beating Pascal? The low left hand of course, thanks Barry for another typically British stereotypical comment.
