I really respect barry mcguigans opinion most of the time but when it comes to amir khan, there is no doubt in my mind that he is on the frank warren payroll with other journalists in the british media

Him and the other commentators made amir's task last week (to your average viewer) seem a lot harder than it really was.

I have never heard such **** from some very respected scribes like barry and other journalists that i really respect. I love mcguigan's commentary most of the time except when it is the overly hyped khan.

He is very honest towards joe calzaghe and other warren stars

The scribes like barry protect and hype khan more than frank warren. its so obvious that frank has the media on his payroll

I have never really liked duke mckenzies views much. I remember back in 2000 he said that naseem hamed would smoke erik morales in 2 rounds

He may have done. Yes they may go over the top but st clair was a class operator going 12 rounds with coralles shows just how tough he was and also fighting vivian harris. So it was definately a step up in class and lets not forget it was is only 15th fight. I aint a khan fan but it was a pretty good performance.

The ITV commentary was ridiculous. They made it seem like some kind of heroic performance when in reality he was fighting a guy moving up in weight who is well past his best. Also he had lost two of his last three and came in on short notice. Great.

I totally agree, the comentary was embarrasing for the <ahem> 'real' boxing fan IMO.

Decent win, no more than that.

Saddest thing of all his an official within the 'Ring magazine' to assist with the ranking of fighters. Hmmmm maybe that is why Amir is ranked 7th in the devision...
