Honestly, I don't see anything creepy in the guy. :?

He might be ruthless, but that's good, he's a professional fighter.:good

Can anyone tell me why Froch has taken this long to become a major threat in world boxing or at least on the verge?

I can't be arsed to check boxrec but isn't he 31 years old?

Yeah, he's 31 but didn't turn pro until his mid 20s, on top of which he hasn't had the best of luck with injuries.

I like the guy, always have. I think most of you are right to take whatever he says with a pinch of salt. When he's actually being interviewed, he seems fairly grounded and sensible.

What do people reckon about the Pascal fight? I've not seen much of the guy, but what little I have didn't impress me too much. He certainly doesn't look like the RJJ replacement that some hyped him up as.

Here's what a Canadian fan who has seen Pascal a good few times says:

Hope Terry O'Connor and Dave Parris are not going to be allowed within 15 feet of the ring, if Pascal is to maintain his good opinion of English refs.

    Interesting, thanks. :good

Just been rewatching some of the youtube stuff of him, and while he does seem to throw fairly quick combos, they don't seen the most precise and his defence and technique seem to go to pieces when he does so; he throws wide and dips his head down. Begging for a Froch uppercut if you ask me.

I'm sure somebody who's seen more will be along to correct me shortly, but that's the impression I got.

People who've watched him also say he's not the strongest mentally, so he makes mistakes, some, quite serious. Should work in Froch's favour. I think the answer is: we just don't know. Both Pascal and Froch have been very good amateurs, but neither is perfect and they're both untested. Most people see Froch by KO as the money pick, but stranger things have happened. We'll see.

Froch is starting to grow on me now. But he can't afford to lose to Pascal at this stage of his career. This is his biggest test to date, as we all know, and if he was to lose to a fellow prospect in Pascal, well he'll have a long old road back to the top. I'd expect the fight to be level after around 6 rounds before Froch stops him. I doubt Pascal will find it as comfortable fighting Froch in front of several thousand fans, as he did in the Commonwealth games. The occasion will get to Pascal and then The Cobra will strike!!

Yeah, but it wouldn't really matter. Pascal will just have turned 26, with only 3 and a half years of pro boxing on the clock, and he'd have been in a title fight, abroad, not least! That's quite impressive in itself, if you compare him to Kessler, Bute and Inkin, and certainly, Froch. If Pascal doesn't get destroyed, he learns a lot and comes back in a year or two. Froch, though, if he loses, he's pretty much done at the highest level. The pressure might be on Froch after all.

Yep, I agree with that Dec. Pascal, unlike Froch, Can afford to lose. There have been rumours about him having a dodgy chin, so Froch will be the first legit threat to him to test that. Either way, if he loses, it's not the end of the world. He's young and at least with 1 defeat behind him, he won't be so concerned with protecting his 0.

And props to him for facing a big puncher, given the questions over his chin, particularly in the puncher's back yard. Always thought Pascal was a fighter who was a possible dodger, because he didn't face Miranda, but it turns out that his shoulder injury was bona fide, and that he wasn't looking for a way out; he just couldn't fight anyone! If only more fighters would take a chance to prove themselves the way this French Canadian fellow does!
