Barry is ok he just has little man syndrone Fact.... Really made uncomfortable viewing when he bullied John Thaxton when he did abit of commentary.. Thaxton seemed a honest bloke but seemed like Barry ****ing hated him couldnt wait to give him a kicking live 0n sky.. Anyone else notice that..
Barry is hands down the best pundit on sky, seems like a genuinely nice guy as well. Nelson and McCrory are a pair of boring ****s on sky, and he livens it up, seems to know what he's on about, more than they do, as well.
when your facing repeated ****, they Have to play it up, sure didn't you see Woodall holding back the snickers before the Fury bout, they were saying what they had too, to hype up a fight, but they couldn't contain themselves over the rediculousness of it. McGuigan is OK, but has towed the line too, and in the case of Flintoff, he, Barry, like the promoters and networks capitalised on the flintoff name, they will milk it too, as long as Freddie keeps wanting to do it!
He's enthusiastic and positive, and he comes across as a family-friendly type, you've got to give him that, for all his faults.
great pundit in studio. terrible at ringside commentating. too loud never liked him when he was commentating on amir khans fights on itv from 2005 to 08 clearly on the frank ****** payroll in that he was always bigging up khan as soon as khan left itv he gave his honest opinion on khan in mirror
Barry McGuigan is a alpha male, he is the only pundit who can challenge Steve Bunce. Note: One thing I have noticed with Barry McGuigan is that over the years, he has aged very well.
I like McGuigan .Liked him in the Lacy Calzaghe build up and Frampton. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ed2-Ze0lf8Q[/ame]
agree with you there, he seemingly looked old overnight but hasn't seemed to age in the past decade now.
Anyone else here old enough to remember barry McGuigan on celebrity gladiators? I loved my boxing back then, & was totally hyped to see a boxer kick their big pansy asses, seeing these big guys with huge builds throw Barry down a foam pyramid like a little rag doll was a sobering experience for a young me. Those were more innocent days you see, when you thought an old wrinkly **** like Wolf actually did hours in the gym daily to have those muscles. You thought Shadow had THAT stare because he hated losing, & not cos he was a juiced up crackhead.
That's not how I saw it. Barry was saying was he thinks, that Frampton will beat them both. How did Rendall 'own' Barry with that line? Of the three Frampton is the only one on SKY and just beat a former world champion. He pulls in bigger crowds too. "Gettin' nowhere" yeah that's right Rendall! ****s sake can a manager not be confident in his own fighter now? And Frampton would stop Munroe now, so he was right wasn't he?!
