If he passes legit physical examinations then he should be allowed to fight.

Did Mcguigan kill a guy in the ring?? Fill me in here.

As a caring human being I want to see Valero quit. It is dangerous. As a boxing fan, I selfishly want to see him fight on and on and on.

Makes you wonder if that head injury gave him some kind of sueprnatural powers?

yeah, it was early in McGuigans career (12 fight), the boxer was from Nigeria, Young Ali was his name.

People on here seem to be saying that if he opasses the medical examinations he should be able to fight, the point is that he hasn't been able to pass the exams and thats why he is not allowed to fight anywhere in the US other than Texas. This man is a tragedy waiting to happen...it wouldn't be so bad if he was a defensive genius but he isn't...as McGuigan points out in the article, when he throws he does so with his chin in the air (like hes peering over a wall says Finbar), anyone of any real class will take advantage of that and could really hurt him very badly indeed.

No wonder his missus looked so worried at ringside.

The truth is none of us are qualified to know exactly what the risks are. He might have fully recovered; he might still be hugely susceptible. The fact that he's being stopped from fighting outside of Texas is worrying, but then it could be doctors being over-cautious. Either way, it's a huge shame for such a talented fighter to be in this situation.
