I really think Hoko would be a tough and dangerous fighter against any FW....

McGuigan was aggressive, not like Hoko, but aggressive in his own way.......he wouldn´t fight on the back foot, so I think this would be dramatic in the first 3 or 4 rounds, because Hoko could crack for real with that left hook (and didn´t have a great chin)....But Barry had a much better jab (underrated one), he was faster and a very mobile target......

I can see Hoko landing some of his shots, but in the end of the day, Barry was the more skilled fighter and would be able to win more rounds......or a stoppage.......

Basically, to be honest, I can see a case for either guy winning, but I like Barry in this one.....by stoppage......

McGuigan would cut his face to shreds if not KO Hoko. I always felt that the Eastwood stable always tried to get hoko to fight like McGuigan, although paul was a good fighter in his own right without being made to emulate McGuigans style. Pauls just a level down IMO

You just had to give Hoko a dirty look and his eye would split open.

At his his best he was as brave as they come, the first Villasana fight was heart breaking to watch.

He had heavy hands and an intensity to his attack to make any Featherweight respect him.

But McGuigan had the better all round game, and although cut prone himself, it was no where near as bad as Hodkinson, at least in his prime.

I can see this being a classic, with nothing in it for eight rounds, until cuts start to hinder Hodkinson, causing a late stoppage, with McGuigan finally breaking though and starting to dominate.

    McGuigan TKO13/14.
