Had they have fought the night that they did but in Belfast, would Barry have beat him or did Cruz have his number?
Looks like the temperature was 100 degrees F, humidity 40%, and wind 10-15 mph for an afternoon outdoors fight in Las Vegas on 6/23/86...per internet records.
Fluke win. Cruz's main attribute was durability. They fight in Belfast indoors, Barry runs him off the road of settles in and wins a lopsided decision IMO. Anything could've happened though, I suppose.
I think it's fair to assume that McGuigan does better on home soil against Cruz. The actual fight, which took place under the Las Vegas sun, was close in the scoring, bar the KDs, so I would bet on McGuigan beating Cruz in more temperate climes.
