If the same two fighters had met the same night but in the Kings Hall or Windsor Park stadium Belfast . What would the outcome have been ? Did Cruz have his number regardless or was Barry all wrong for fighting in the heat and would have won elsewhere
No the Heat was defo a factor and it is a true killer to loads of people that can't bare it, so pasty white Irishmen, generally speaking do suffer the effects of it. I lived in the Okanagan Valley, the HOTTEST Place in Canada and year after year I stayed out of the sun as much as possible, not even people that are used to it like it either. some people can take it and live for it, others dread it!
I'd have to agree that the heat had a huge impact, but it's not as if McGuigan's potential undoing came out of nowhere. He took a while to get going against Taylor and then struggled mightily against the unheralded Cabrera, getting his face all busted up, in the fight right before Cruz. You could see it coming to some extent, though obviously mostly in hindsight.
