MAB, and it wouldn't have been close. I'd say a very unanimous decision.

iS this lets be maen to Barry MCguigan week again?...

Although Barrera is a tier higher than MCguigan... Barry gives him a tough fight amd keeps it close over the first half... But Barreras cleaner, more accurate punches take a toll after the mid rounds.. In the late ounds Barry would be targe practic for Mab, and would land 1 ro every one fo Barrera 2.. 3. Barry had heart and never say die fighting style, but the more he presed the more punishment hed take... After the 8th round , Barry would eat alot of heavy leather and takes a beating. .. Barrera closes the show or ref stops it acouole rojnds later... Barrera Tko 10... .. This mgiht look like the Barrera -mckineny fight.. Very competitve and gutsy perofomance by the loser ,, But Barrera showes the difference

Barrera on points in a war,Barry gets a lot of stick,i think people are forgetting just how good Barry was in his prime..

I agree with this. Barry gets underrated a bit, but MAB would have a few too many tools.

Surprise surprise. Yet another thread where McGuigan v whoever, and whoever stops McGuigan. Not a mention bout McGuigans ability to take a punch and never being stopped (I think its fair not to include the McDonnell loss here as he was practically finished and we are talking prime for prime)

mcguigan is usually looked at as one of the lower feather weight greats it's not our problem he didn't have a whole lot of all time fights

Barrera had a long prime,, even at JL he was still elite... Only version Mcguigan beats is the one who had an off night and squeeked by Rocky Juaresz.. Any other version beats Barry.... Mcguigan is the one who had a short prime, ahd his big wins were against an past it Pedroza,Burnt out Taylor, and inconsistant Laporte.

i will take MAB by UD although a late stoppage is not out of the question ,i watched the mcguigan/pedroza fight the other week and although pedroza was well past his best mcguigan was still pretty impressive .

over 12 rounds and inside and not outside in the sun i think mcguigan probably goes the distance

Barrera, he`d land the more accurate punches throughout & those SHOULD score higher than Mcguigans aggression.

Yep, thats the one. Think it was Miranda in the previous fight who fought with the head and cut McGuigan on both eyes. Without taking anything away from McDonnell, he fortunately reopened them. Case closed. Retired shortly after that. He wouldnt have lasted the distance with a prime McGuigan but thats not his fault, he can only fight the guy in front of him.
