It's a yay for me, Have really enjoyed his input recently ie Groves/degale now Haye/Klit. Not a bad commentator either, was very decent on old Screensport with his enthusiasim and passion. He's right up their as a pundit who i like to see on sky. 1.Watt A better pundit than comm for me, Excellent on Ringside 2.McGuigan A class act, dont mind him getting some comm 3.Woodhall Very informative, quick to the point 4.Darke Out on his own imo as lead comm 5.Piper Not seen much of him lately a bit unlucky perhaps 6.McCrory Says what he see's, accent can be a wee bit dour 7.Nelson Just dosent do it for me as a pundit, was very poor during Groves/Degale 8.Smith **** commentator and even worse as a pundit has to go !! 9.Rawling Not suited to TV and really a radio man, same old cliche's ! off thou goes Relegated are Nelson, Smith and Rawling Promoted Bunce, Holdsworth and McAuley
McGuigan has a huge ego and always thinks he's right when he's clearly not. Great that Eubank Sr told him where to go when he was trying to poach Jr.
Hatton looked fuming at times when he tried to say something and Barry would butt in and ramble on. Then those two fart knockers would interrupt the discussion.
Can't believe anyone rates woodhall, he has zero personality and hates on every fighter that has a slightly low left hand.
What's most disturbing about Smith is the facial expressions when he finishes a sentence and the camera pans away. Plus him and Nelson are sat slightly too close together for comfort
Yay. Barry is articulate & insightful, whenever he speaks or writes about boxing I pay attention. Smith & Nelson are becoming a bit like the Nescafe couple (are they/arent they) but they make a lovely couple (no homo)
Barry is the best on sky imho, his insights are clear and are based in leymans terms for he casuals tuning in. He has knowledge of fighters worldwide and reads up wel, something which the likes of Nelson dont. But most importantly he calls a fight for what it is i.e Haye v harrison 'why would audley change a habit of a lifetime and start fighting, come on johnny admit your wrong!' thats was sheer brilliance... Woodhall is very insightful and always says 'he needs to get behind that jab, thats the key to this fight' makes me laugh as he says it as much as 'believe you me' but he is honest, tells it as it is and normally calls a fight well (bar rees kotelnik iirc). Nelson, p45 in post along with a thankyou for your services but we must part ways letter. He is too biased and sucks on skys nuts just to keep in, its a shame really cos he seems like a nice guy... Watt, whilst knowledgable about the sport of boxing, he seems to pick a fighter at the start (hometown or fave normally), i dislike the way he guesses the what the judges are thinking. If he cuts that out then hes mustard...
