Anyone read it ? Is it worth a a read ? Old Barry in top hat and suit - was at Royal Ascot this week shamelessly plugging it in front of a BBC ONE TV Camera. Got quite a story to tell though - because of the way he united a whole Country in Ireland - and killed a man in the ring - and fought in the same era as Colin Jones - he came down to Wales before see the boxing shed.:shock::shock: Anyone buying it ? I had a little flick through today in the shops - just for 2 minutes - there is a picture of him getting floored by Steve Cruz and then he says underneath the photo in brackets (note Bob Gedlof and Paula Yates in the crowd) patsch
'Old Barry in top hat and suit - was at Royal Ascot this week shamelessly plugging it in front of a BBC ONE TV Camera.' That line has me laughing out loud here, brilliant:good
if bazza's storys are anything like what ive heard in interviews are to go by then ill bet its a right belter!
Exactly, bringing up something that has ruined peoples lives in a smug matter speaks volumes. If it's about peoples haircuts, sheds or energy fair enough, but someone losing their life in the ring is not something to joke about.
It was poor, more like he was trying to have a chit-chat with you through the pages than anything else - not as bad as Hatton's and Calzaghe's, though. McGuigan does have a big ego, and his love of Calzaghe was plain disturbing. I liked him more way back when.
**** you on about. I didnt joke about that - I just stated it matter of factly. he did kill a man in the ring - its a significant part of his life - just as was the sucide of his brother. I would not joke about a man losing his life.
You can deny it but every one knows you were intending it as a subtle dig. I think you are a good poster but things like this are over the line.
No - thats not my character to gloat over the death of a man in a ring. Everything I wrote in that sentence - of Barry uniting a torn Country Ireland - and killing a man and coming down to Wales to see the boxing gym where Colin Jones trained - was just matter of fact statements.
