Based on styles and huge size disparity would Benavidez had been Hagler's Kryptonite

Hagler is a jrMW by modern standards.

Benavidez is legitimately 2 weight classes higher considering Benavidez is bigger than most people in his own division he's practically 3 divisions higher than Hagler.

It makes far more sense to match Hagler against Crawford than it does Benavidez.

Same day weigh ins? Hagler is fighting a lanky corpse.

Day before weigh ins, Hagler is fighting Spence or Crawford.

    Potent cringe.

Hagler is boxing his ears off. Size is the only thing that keeps it somewhat competitive.

Somebody ought to make an antibiotic pill for the general forum with countless times an elite boxer dealt with a much larger but less skilled foe (which a notable amount when discussing cream of the crop.) I swear, people would laugh at you for saying Hunter would beat Bakole forgetting it happened.

Levels >> Size, but it's always the all-time greats that are name-dropped in those threads because I doubt the would be OP remember a less stellar top boxers of the day, which would actually get overwhelmed by the sheer size disparity.

Unless Benavidez is allowed to rehydrate on fight night to where he'd have a massive weight advantage over Hagler, he is ****ed, plain and simple. Here are the facts about Benavidez. He...

    -can't hurt Hagler
    -can't bully Hagler
    -can't outwork Hagler
    -can't outthink Hagler
-can't outfight Hagler on the inside
-sure as hell can't outbox Hagler

Hagler would Benavidez into deep waters and drown him. He is similar to what a what-if version of Holyfield at MW when it comes to chin, determination and willingness to go to war at all costs.

I'm not sure that guy who couldn't hurt even once Gavril in 24 rounds and couldn't stop Plant would be able to hurt Hagler, who was never really hurt in 67 fights some of which were against elite punchers

Better chin and power than Holyfield in P4P sense, and that says a lot

I'm shocked we're even comparing these 2 fighters! The Marvelous One early & decisively! Haglar was a train wreck! The Benavidez volume does nothing, because it lacks the power it would require to even wake Hagler up! Benavidez was done by the 10th against DM Saturday night! Nothing left on the tail of those punches! And he lost the championship rounds! Not only does he lose to Haglar, he also loses to the Detroit Cobra. Hearns brings way to much to the table for Benavidez to contend with! Mugabi & Benavidez is close. But C'mon,, are we seriously considering this! No way does Benavidez even finish the fight! Scary enough thinking about what happens if Morrell had 3 more rounds to get the job done! The Marvelous One continues to rain Supreme!

Benavidez doesn't have the power to make Hagler blink, let alone stop him

Eh, Canelo is like a mini Mike Tyson in terms of build. Would bet his femur, his radius and ulna, etc, are much thicker and denser than 99% of men his height. You can’t really look at him like you’d look at other fighters his height due to those freak genetics. He probably walks around at a lean 185 or so.

Smile!,,, thinking of Hagler pumping that right jab into Benevidez's face. The size difference means he might go the distance but after watching him gas later in 12 round fights it 's hard to see him getting off the stool for round 15

Benavidez might be too big, but he isn't hurting Hagler

Based on styles and huge size advantage, would Beterbiev be Benavidez' kryptonite?
