Based on the speed bag routine I think Ward will outclass Kovalev !

Let's be honest, Ward will frustrate Kovalev in the ring and get the decision.

I make Ward slight fave myself, but like I said on the other thread on this subject, spped bag work means f**k all. Pascal doesn't look too shabby on the speed bag in this video either and look what Kovelev did to him:

Ward's skill set will be the difference.

One thing I have noticed with boxers with huge punching power is that their skill is often overlooked. Kov is very skilled. You don't get far at all in boxing with just power because you won't be able to land that punch without skill. It's like if you just go into a boxing gym for the first time, but you've been knocking guys out in the neighborhood. Sure, you have the power to knock whoever you box out, but I guarantee if the man you are boxing is worth his weight in salt you will not land a damn thing.

Kovalev has great boxing fundamentals and a beautiful understanding of range combined with understanding of how to set up his punches. He doesn't do anything flashy, but he possesses a tremendous amount of skill. The difference in skill isn't that big between Kov and Ward, but Kov has far more tools that Ward would have to worry about and neutralize in this fight effectively to win.

Listen. If all else fails Kovalev can just walk right through Ward's pitty pats and destroy him

    Ward has no chance. None

lol, It's obvious that this thing means fly_$hit on fight night. Kovalev has good fundamentals, he's a strong LHW and he can also stick to the gameplan/adapt when he's in trouble. Ward ain't fighting Captain Caveman Froch or a drained-midget-minded Dawson.

51-49 fight. Give ward slight edge but would not be surprised if Kovalev wins. Kovalev has underrated skill.

I know most people's decision on this fight are due to the butt hurt of what Ward did to Kessler so long ago. I like Kovalev. He deserves more praise than most fighters like GGG for example. That said, he's not ready for Ward. Too much to decipher since Ward uses a variety of range and can go from technician to brawler/in fighter like this is MK10 where you can switch styles. Ward has more to prove and is held to a higher standard than all active fighters today. He's going to win. An L means everything he accomplished means squat. He won't let that happen. Just accept it now.
