if a boxer for example is an super star as an amateur, winning gold in olympia and has an extrodinary record (like rigo for instants), which promoter in your eyes, would him put in the big spolight, meaning letting him fight somebody good as soon as possible?

oscar promotions, arum, the german promoters, ******....???

just was thinking about it. because some promoters realy have good boxers, with solid amateur background, still they simply dont get good opponents as soon as possible.

denis boytsov for example. he could have fought good opponents like chagaev or tony thompson years ago and nothing happens.

It depends on the fighter, and the division.

Golden Boy seems quite willing to put their prospects in tough matchups. (Except Canelo the golden ticket, but he's getting KO'd by Mosley so it's cool.)

Also consider, that these guys amatuer records don't translate to a professional fan base, so the Champion will be reluctant to fight them, especially when the amatuer is highly skilled, but doesn't bring much Money to the table.

Sauerland ans Golden Boy seems to be the ones who fast track fighters the most.

Beibut Shumenov is the best example, dude had like 5 fights and than he has an good opponent in montel griffin. his career when sky rocket, not meaning his an huge star, but he got good fights very very fast.

the opposite might be julio cesar chavez jr., who like his father had 30 fights with opponents with bad record before getting an okay fight.

okay, than put is this way. how would golden body promo react or arum if a uy comes from the amateur, godl medal, superb technic, ko machine and the "david beckham"-looks. just portaying the perfect scenario.

would this guy get to the higher ranks in fast speed?

So basically Oscar De La Hoya?

Arum had him fight something like 11 times in 12 months, putting him on the undercard of major fights (I think he was on some RJJ undercards) you have him make public appearences often so the public is aware who he is, then after two years, at around about the 20 fight mark you put him in with a belt holder, not the man, but a belt holder. You have him make defences against faded names, and guys with cult followings, this adds to the fanbase, after this at around about the 26 fight mark, he should be ready for a PPV unification with the big dog in his division.

    good answer.

you think the german would do this. I ask, because I forgot his name, but there is an german KO machine, good looking kid, 17 years old and I hope he goes to the US as soon as possible if he turns pro, because sauerland or universum might wait to long. look at that kid jack culcay, amateur super star and you basicly hear nothing from him, guess he gonne get an good fight in 3-4 years. just a shame.....

fought good opponents very fast. thats what I like about his or gamboa's career. good amateurs, who got pro and their promoters didnt waist any time to put them infront of quality opponents.

another question I've got. how many years does an basic contract consist of, when an star amateur boxer turns pro. I alaways hear those horror story of boxer getting sued because of contract and all that bull****. I know every contract is different, but what is so the basic normal contract, 3-4 years?

    anybody know...
