:yikes BASILIO BEATS HIM EVERYTIME. LOOK, RAY ROBINSON WAS THE BEST EVER AND BASILIO HOLDS A WIN OVER HIM. I COULD NOT IMAGINE DELAHOYA WINNING AGAINST ROBINSON. BASILIO WAS A GREAT PUNCHER, HAD GREAT HEART AND WAS TIRELESS.
Basilio was immensely strong, even to the point where a bull like Gene Fullmer was backing away from him and being overly respectful at 160. Oscar's tendency to fade would cost him here imo.
I disagree w/ that assessment - in fact, I think he was 1 of the best technical brawlers after Duran. A past-prime SRR was still a heckuva fighter, as Fullmer & Olson can attest to, & he was arguably hitting harder w/ 1 punch than @ any other stage of his career. Even after losing to Basilio, he was arguably robbed of decisions vs. Pender & Fullmer.
