Battle of the 90's Journeymen, Cooper vs Thunder

Man I can see this one on Tuesday Night Fights, in all its glory!!
I have such an affinity for the old TNF. I have every show they ever aired, most still on VHS I'm still getting around to all those transfers lol.
Both these guys made multiple appearances on TNF. This one would be interesting. Cooper motivated and in shape probably does a number on Thunder, but......... Slicksters and cuties bothered Thunder not guys that wanted to stand and bang, and we know Cooper stays right there inside and wants to trade. Cooper sometimes pulls his own plug when hard punches start flying at him and other times you could run him over with a dumptruck and he'd keep coming. So can Thunder hurt the very easy to hit Cooper or does the Smoke walk right thru Thunder?? And go......

They would also reshow ppv cards which was kind of irrelevant since I ordered all the PPVs but it was still cool .
I remember they'd have lengthy shows pre shows before big fights.
Then I remember getting all those Heavyweight Explosion cards with guys like Brewster, Ibeabuchi, Gary Bell, Rahman and many others in pro debuts and early on in development. I'm grateful to have grown up in the 80's - 90's boxing was all over the tube!!

Like many of you have stated I agree with the opinion that Cooper "should" beat Thunder but if he's not right mentally Thunder would beat him. Cooper had great power and a solid beard (when he wanted to) I remember Cooper used to be brought into camps to emulate Tyson since he was of similar size. Many a fighter claimed Cooper the hardest puncher they ever fought.

 

Solid stuff.. On point!

 

I know it's because of the Era we grew up in and I know it's because we saw them so frequently on TV, but I was and still am fascinated by all those characters we grew up watching.

Completely obscure to most people, but guys like Terry Davis who knocked out Henry Tillman on a TNF card. Me and my friends who all taped the show and watched it every week knew the interviews and many of the fights inside and out because we loved it . Back to that Davis victory we used to always find that Davis post fight interview hilarious.. Because he was talking and he said "I'm not gonna bull**** ya man" this of course being long before the days when cussing was you know pretty much allowed on TV so if you heard it it was always hilarious and kind of a surprise and I remember Al and Sean after he said it being like God dude seriously come on..

Another hilarious moment is when foreman in his last comeback fight before Holyfield against Terry Anderson I believe over In the UK.. Basiclly the entire camps for both fighters are just walking in front of Al and Sean while they're trying to give like a post fight wrap up about a minute after they finished interviewing foreman..., I can see it plain as day as well as hear Al Albert who was always a bit of a wise ass which I loved saying "and the whole crowd is taking us with them ". and then Sean being such a joker saying "let's go" I also remember Sean just like laughing uncontrollably while everyone was just walking in front of them as if they were completely unaware that there were cameras pointed at these two guys trying to call this fight..

That's the good **** they lacked the production obviously of an HBO so you had more moments like that but it made it feel so real and raw and I loved it

Who could ever forget the Rid**** Bowe/Rock Newman/Marc Roberts rumble outside the ring during a post fight interview... To which a sandwiched Al and Sean between the two camps had Al Albert saying we will be back with another man event after these messages and then Sean saying it may be us in the main event and laughing

That's gold for me!!!!
