Both in their title winning version s. Walcott a excellent tricky boxer type with a solid punch. Prone to throwing surprises from nowhere. Ahead of his time.
Facing him is the slower but hard hitting foreman, who broke Walcott s record at age 45. Does Walcott out manuvere the slower heavier foreman.? Or would big George Corner the foxy Jersey and add him to his list of ko's,? Walcott gave Louis, Charles and marciano tough fight s on his best day and I don't think this is going to be a walk over for George.

Thought provoking match up...Lean towards Walcott in the battle of the 'aged'. Walcott wouldn't engage, and I don't think Foreman could follow up on his power punches. I 'd pick Walcott by decision...I'm not looking at a calender here...and I'm talking about the version of Foreman that fought Moorer...However give Foreman back a few years, say the version that fought Holyfield...I think George could catch him...and stop him. Around the 10th.

I think that Walcott would win by a wide decision. He would be too fast and slick, and Foreman probably does have the reflexes to take him out at this stage. There is a big difference between 37 and 45 in this game.

Big difference. And foreman always struggled with movement. Heck, even morrison out pointed him! The only way foreman gets him is if he does a second Louis fight and goes toe to toe with George. That's suicide tactics against him.

I also say Walcott is the favourite by some way, with the caveat that the one thing Old Foreman did have was a deceptively quick and heavy jab. If he could zero that in, things could get difficult for Jersey Joe.

Old Louis managed it in second fight but even he was probably faster than foreman at that point. And of course the rock got him. But Walcott s got the edge in this one. Strange to say Jersey s the spring chicken in this fight!

Great thread, Fergy. I'm gonna go with the consensus and say Walcott wins a decision.

Walcott by decision. HE was faster, fitter, smarter, trickier and hit much harder than Jimmy Young. Not even close, imo.

If Morrison could outbox a 45 yr old Foreman then imagine what Walcott would
do ? Joe on pts .
