How do they compare? Who would win in a 15 round fight? 12 round? Did Lausee fully live up to his potential? For that matter, did the late-starting Martinez?

Lausse was unlucky to never become MW champion despite beating Kid Gavilan, Gene Fullmer, and Ralph Jones. Three opponents far better than any guys that Martinez has beaten. Martinez was a crowd pleasing fighter but he was very technically flawed with that low guard and reliance on his athleticism. Lausse not only had better boxing fundamentals but he had superior defense and punching power.

As far as who would have one in a mythical match up I favor Lausse by late round stoppage but it would be highly entertaining.

I guess Lausse would be all wrong for Martinez since he could do well against movers.

Lausse was a guy that fought according to the moon of the night though, Selpa had his number, which could mean that he had trouble with brute swarming punchers that weren´t afraid of his power... but he beat Gene Fullmer, that was a better version of Selpa. So I don´t know...
