    A top 5 contender.

I’m sure Godfrey was coming off a world class am career like Ortiz when he was 7-3-1.

How many times did you actually see those fights?
Boxing was crude and unrefined back then. Kong would pick these guys off with shape accurate counters.

When he was old and half-blinded.

Lang doesn't look great here and Langford made a quick work of him. Watch this fight:

You wouldn’t if you fail to understand why Langford would be helpless against a prime Ortiz.

Langford could also fight a 230 pound bag of sand and it wouldn’t prove he could beat a prime Luis Ortiz.

Tiny little Sam,built like a tank. They foisted oversized gloves on him in this fight.

When did Ortiz prove he could beat a fighter as great as Langford? Whose name on his record indicates this? Langford conceded 5.5inches to Lang and 37 pounds.

Nothing that Ortiz accomplished suggests that. Langford proved that he was capable of beating fighters of Ortiz size and ability.

A fight between Ortiz and Khurtsidze wouldn’t be sanctioned in modern times, so he never got to prove he could beat a guy like Langford.
