Both Versions that Rocky Knocked out. Joe Louis, still dangerous and a true Heavyweight. Vs Archie Moore - Defensive genius and KO artist. Rocky bludgeoned Archie to a KO, and Knocked Louis out of the ring. Lets say instead of Marciano they fight each other. Who takes this one?
No contest. Joe gave a good account of himself, but once he was really hurt badly, he was done essentially. Moore on the other hand took tremendous punishment for round after round, and kept firing back with powerful shots of his own. Moore possibly by a mostly easy decision, but if they're swinging for fences, Moore takes him out in 7.
Moore still had gas in the tank and was raring to go. Louis hangs in there for a while but he loses, maybe by KO, in the mid-late portion of the fight.
Moore had more left, he went on to best some good fighters. Louis retired for good reason. Moore would take this.
Moore wasn't washed up in Marciano fight. He was past his best, but still extremely good. Louis was far from his old self in comparison. Archie would outpoint him most likely.
