What would you say Tuas ideal weight would be SQ?
I dont think anything under 225-230 is ideal for him at around 26-27 years old.

He got a little nutty as time went by. Yes. He still wasn't unbeatable. There's nothing to say that in a knockdown dragout fight, he wouldn't do anything. It could happen anytime.

When he knocked out john ruiz he was just 225lb, Ike Ibeubuchi he went 12 hard paced rounds setting a world record in punching stats at 226lb. In 1995 he weighed in at 210lb in one of his fights. I defintley think he could have weighed a lean ripped 220lb at his best. 5 more lbs of fatt of him

I think his weight against Ibeabuchi is about right. He looked comfortable and obviously it didnt slow him down. There was no need to drain anymore weight, he was probably early 230s when he stepped in the ring anyway, even though he didnt need to on occasion he would drain for weigh in for aesthetics.

Ali, Holmes, Frazier, Foreman, Lewis were never ripped, in fact very few top heavyweights have ever been ripped, Norton and Holyfield are the obvious exceptions.

The guys of the past fought more than twice a year. The thing with Tua was he needed to stay active to maintain that 230 range. When he was with Duva he was always in camp. He was working his way through the ranks so there was no downtime. When his activity slowed down after leaving Main Events, he really started to lose a lot of intensity. Training camps become more to lose weight than work on boxing. Some fighters have to stay in the gym year round to maintain their fitness regardless of how well they eat on their offtime, which in Tuas case was very poor. Sam Peter is another good example recently, the guy cant stay in shape, so all his power and explosiveness is greatly diminished by his inability to stay in the gym and maintain some sense of fitness.
Thats why a guy like Hopkins has been able to have such an extended career, because he always keeps himself in pristine shape.

I find these hard to pick but I think this is a very astute comment. I might be the only one thus far who feels Marciano is a slight favorite over Frazier.

Tua, frankly, stands to lose decisions. He is getting too much love.

I think the only love Tua is getting is for having a good chance of beating Tyson. Everyone knows that he is the least of the lot. It's just that with his chin and power, he stands a good chance of outlasting Mighty Mike.

Tua, Frazier and Tyson are heavyweights and fought Heavyweights Marciano is a cruiserweight who fought cruiserweights and smaller. Could we stop making threads putting overrated fighters like Marciano against people who were bigger than him and would knock him out? I never seen such fanboyism in my life.

Marciano slow, unskilled and easy to hit but he could fight 210 plus pound heavyweights and win? Bob Foster was a 175 pounds right? So he was 5 to 10 pounds lighter than Marciano but could he fight 210 plus pound guys and go toe to toe and win? Nope, then why would Marciano be able to doi? Wait never mind i know why.
