H2H? Lopez Legacy? Lopez Skill sets? Lopez Ivan Calderon is one of my favorite fighters today, but I see him losing to Lopez. Finito also beat the better fighters and remained undefeated his entire 52 bout career which gives him the edge in legacy. And overall skill sets, Calderon is GREAT - a master boxer, but Lopez had no weaknesses. He was a perfect textbook fighter.
I say Calderon boxes rings around Ricardo to a unanimous points decision.Lopez,of course,is a hard hitter for a little man...and works all night....But Calderon is too slick and fast for him....This kid is probably better than Floyd as an propieter of the sweet science. They don't come slicker. He's got everything except power. Calderon UD.
Two great posts, but some seriously divergent opinions. Its hard for me to see Lopez losing. Yet, Ivan's skills are beautiful to watch.
Calderon wins in a 20+ foot ring, Lopez wins in a smaller ring. Legacy-wise, Lopez without a question, although Calderon might have an argument if he can unify at 108.
Like Black, I too would pick Jung Koo Chang over Calderon. But that is at light flyweight whereas Calderon was best at strawweight.
