Yeah he sure did, he didnt even see that shot coming.. I think he was kinda rushed to fast at his age already fighting a guy like Ponce De Leon

yeah. i kinda thought bautista was overrated. his last few fights where he struggled against better opposition indicated this. this overwhelming loss to de leon totally confirmed it.

That's a bad loss for such a young fighter.

well, you better have a chin if you're fighting for the championship. skills don't matter if the other guy hits you and you can't take it. and this was just only in the first round and he didn't survive it. but he is young and de leon did land a perfect combo there so maybe even fighters w/ better chins can't take it too.

i do hope that bautista though shakes off this terrible loss and comes back better in the future. he really has to improve his defense to compensate for this shaky chin.

Most people on this fight were saying "either Ponce KO or Bautista UD, could be a good fight"...

Hell mate, I said "There is no way Bautista gets past Ponce with that terrible punch resistance" and it doesn't get any more definitive than KO 1!:yep

His power is overrated, but his skills are there.

His chin is another matter, though.:yep

I saw Bautita's life n death battle against Medina, I thought maybe he was just too green and got caught, but I would chalk it up more to bad defense than a bad chin. I have only seen these 2 fights though...so Im not sure on that. Ponce has a hell of a punch and he caught him right on the chin... By bad defense on Bautista's part, I mean he has shyte head movement, doesnt roll with punches, fights stiff as a board and rarely shows lateral movement :patsch . Someone should tell that kid there is much mroe to "defense" than keeping your hands up. :rofl i think his handlers rushed him in with Median, and now again with Ponce. Way to build a prospect...i hope his handler is not DLH :bart... i have faith in goldie:yep

I said that Boom Boom didn't react well when he got hurt. There is no shame in getting ko'd by Ponce. The guy hits so hard and is one of the big boys. Bautista just wasn't ready. I think this victory said more about Ponce than it did about Bautista. Everyone knew Rey was inexperienced and may get hurt. Most didn't know Ponce would destroy him this quick. Congrats to Ponce on such a great display of power. He is truly a force to be reckoned with.

Still feeling pretty proud, man. :good

getting a 5-1 result and winning the trophy feels really nice. its just too bad boomboom got hammered, but i think with these wins, it shows that the level of asian boxing is at par or even better compared with the best countries in the world.

Asians fighters just needs more exposure in America.
