It was the right call, Murphy had nothing left, Its a shame I had him slightly ahead as well.

He has beaten Corley, Delvin Rodriguez was unlucky against Garcia. That's board line world class is it not?

Can't believe people in the general are calling it a shocking stoppage.

    great fight anyways

best way to stop a swarmer let him punchimself out and put the pressure back on them in the ater rounds......didnt look good at all theophane.
the last 4 rounds showed why he gets ranked, just an abilty to win. dont know what this means for him though, is he a outrighter now? or was the belt not on the line?

murphy has raised his stock with this. on an undercard near you soon.

Yank refs let them fight, Brit refs (some of them) jump in too soon

    Morning all :hi:

Well.. another poor stoppage to start the night's boxing (for me anyway). Sure, it was arguably coming but it's meant to be a fight for **** sake. No way would Howard Foster have stopped it like that if it was the other way around and that's what makes it bull****. No complaints from Murphy though, I think he felt done himself.

But fair play to both boxers. Murphy did all he could and certainly gave it his all. A bit crude of course but effective nonetheless. Theophane did well to keep his composure and come back well in the second half of the fight.

Good fight anyways but yeah bit disappointed with the stoppage because it takes away from what could have been a good finish from Theophane.

Absolutely...after the effort that Murphy put in early doors it was totally predictable

It's not that "the first time Theopane had a sustained attack the ref jumped in", when Murphy was attacking he wasn't having a whole lot of success. Murphy was all but gone, punched himself out and the punches were really taking their toll.

    Absolutely disgusting stoppage.

Who cares what Murphy had left, he was still on his feet, throwing back. He wasn't wobbling around the ring and covered up on the ropes for 2 minutes of the round...

You think anyone's going to touch Murphy now?

Corley was borderline world class ten years ago. but he was on a hot 4 loss streak when theo got hold of him. Rodriguez? come on man who have he beat?
    ok then.
